Summary
Clancy gave his heart and soul to Master Clarke for two years, even when he had to share him with another sub. But his devotion was not enough to prevent his Dom from discarding him like garbage and replacing him with a younger sub. Broken and lost, Clancy finds shelter and comfort in Master Dunn, who helps him heal and look for a new Dom.
Clancy's eyes are drawn to a handsome Dom, who shares his interests, but he soon realizes he is not the only one who wants to be collared by Liam Flanagan. Many other subs are competing for his attention and affection. Does Clancy have the courage and confidence to fight for what he wants, or will he let his past hold him back?
When he learns Clancy is free from his former Dom, he makes his move, but he faces resistance from some of his ex-sub and ex-boyfriend who refuse to accept he is moving on without them.
Can Master Flanagan protect Clancy from his jealous ex-lovers who want to sabotage their relationship? Can Clancy trust Master Flanagan enough to let go of his fears and doubts, especially when some of his ex-lovers are his friends?
Age gap, light BDSM, bookstore owner, hotel co-owner, jealous ex-lovers, hurt and comfort, Irish romance, spankings, and new friendships.

Enjoyed
I enjoyed following Clancy after he loses his Dom and what happens next. Once Liam realises that Clancy has no Dom anymore, he makes plans though things do not go smoothly. There are twists and turns along with insecurities to deal with. James does a brilliant job in narrating and bringing the characters to life.

Back in Ireland, I love these books
We meet Clancy and Liam this time. Although many characters from the previous books are popping up, this can be read as a stand-alone book.
Set in Ireland, we meet characters from all walks of life, Doms and Subs.
Clancy has a bookshop but needs someone to be submissive to in his free time. He had that with Master Clarke, or had he?
It was well written and a fun read/listen.
James Talbot does a good job narrating, although I speed up to 1.20 on audible.

Complicated characters and relationship
Liam is a Dom who knows he wants Clancy and Clancy knows he wants Liam. That's the easy part for these two. What is difficult, is that Clancy has repeatedly been abandoned by those he's given his love and trust to so he has self-esteem and trust issues as well as a history of ghosting people when things get difficult in a relationship. Liam is a relatively inexperienced Dom who also has a couple of troublesome exes lurking about causing trouble and he has his own difficult history with coming out. These two have a rocky road to travel to finding peace with each other, but fortunately they have older and more experienced friends to guide them and give them both support and a good kick in the pants when necessary. These characters are wonderfully real and complicated. Loved every minute I spent with them. I was looking forward to the audio for this book as soon as I read it, but also worried that the narrator might not catch the nuances of character during the period when Liam and Clancy are at the rockiest point in their relationship. Brina Brady has done an excellent job on the page walking a delicate line so that while we can feel and understand their frustration with each other, we also feel empathy for them and understand that their behavior is being shaped by their pasts and that they never stop loving each other. I needn't have worried. James Talbot got the emotions exactly right in those sections and you can hear their struggle, confusion and the underlying love there in his performance. This has been a truly emotional series and this is a stellar addition to it.
