Calvinistic bias... but could be worse

Naturally, Christian authors are going to slip in denominational bias when talking about Church history. When the Chapters are so brief, it's hard to give an in depth review so it's understandable. Overall, it's not a terrible book and does give a decent overview, but I would advise to look at things from the Apostolic side as well as the "biblical calvinist" side. I think more nuance should be granted, though I know that was not the aim of this book. Ultimately, whatever floats your boat!

Powerful reminder of what our church ancestors suffered for their faith

I liked the synopsis of what was good and where error crept in with different movements through the ages. It is only a synopsis but has encouraged me to read more about the early church martyrs.

To the point.

All the main events of 2000 years with just enough detail to be interesting and far from boring. Good faith builder. I would recommend this book for Christian’s looking to build their understanding of our faith.

A basic overview

Short and sweet. But good if you’re just starting in the historical journey. Plays well at 1.2
