About this listen

Chuck is a whippet. A very nervous whippet, who's scared of almost everything; paper bags, pigeons and of course cats (even the little fluffy ones). Some people say Chuck's a wimpet, not a whippet, and Mum keeps pretending she's going to give her away, but Danielle knows better. One day Chuck's going to save the Universe! Now all she has to do is prove it to Mum

This is an utterly engaging tale, superbly narrated by Andrew Sachs - in fact, I think the recording is preferable to the paper book on this occasion, just because it is SO well read. My daughter loved it when she was six and still enjoys it at eighteen. We both relisten to it on occasion and delight in it every time; truly a timeless, ageless treasure (the cassette has had its day, so I bought it from Audible). It is lighthearted, witty and heartwarming. Altogether fabulous! Enjoy!
