Summary
A varied tour through the Cape Peninsula National Park around the Cape Peninsula along the coast, through fine sand dunes that do not stop at the road.
The Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve in the south of the Peninsula measures 8,000 hectares and has been part of the national park since 1998.
Passing picturesque fishing villages and small towns with nostalgic flair, the journey goes through the wonderful landscape with steeply sloping rocks to the southernmost point.
In between, boulders, large chunks of granite break the coastline and form numerous protected small bays and reefs. The origin of the boulders can be traced back to 540 million years.
Huge sandstone monuments protect the flowering grasslands from the stormy winds. 52 orchids and 139 plant species thrive together with sugar bushes and the Protea, the country's national flower, in the vast fields.
The drive through the national park ends with a view of the beautiful sunset over the sea, which the visitor will remember for a long time.
