Summary

The critically acclaimed, internationally bestselling Ellie Reckless series continues...

"You work for me now, Reckless—or else I'll burn your debts, and everything you love... to ash!"

For years, Ellie Reckless and her team have been the go-to problem solvers for London’s Underworld, initially doing favors to clear her name, and later operating as a legitimate force. But the streets of London are about to get hotter.

But now a new player has appeared: Becky Slade, a fierce bare-knuckle fighter from a family with a vendetta. The Slades have clashed with the Simpsons for control over South London for decades, and now that Ellie has eliminated the Simpsons, Becky wants her on side. Becky’s proposition is simple: join her, handing over all remaining debts to the Slades, or be crushed beneath her feet.

With old friends turning traitor and her back against the wall, Ellie faces an impossible choice. She must either help Becky Slade conquer London, or find a way to rise above her threats. The only hope lies in a piece of advice from an ex-gangster, months earlier: to use her debts to seize control first.

But can Ellie do this and still keep her soul, while holding together the team she created and battling a woman who's never lost a fight?

The fifth book in the critically acclaimed series of procedural crime thrillers by #1 New York Times bestselling writer Tony Lee writing as Jack Gatland, and spinning out of his bestselling DI Declan Walsh book series, Burn The Debt is perfect for fans of J.D Kirk, L.J Ross, Ian Rankin, J.M Dalgliesh, Rachel McLean and Ann Cleeves, among others.

If you enjoyed the suspenseful thrillers of these authors, you won't be able to put down Burn The Debt.

Narration saves this book.

if it wasn't for the narrator I'd have given up, this book was not a patch on the previous books, just one long list of he said, she said, they said, very benign and lost my attention many times.
