I abandoned the book halfway. It is not the most lively or gripping of texts to begin with (although what I managed to grasp of the central argument has potential), but the narration makes it quite impossible to comprehend. It combines the tedium of a droning monotone with the chaos of random sentence scansion, making it impossible to take in the actual meaning of the content.

Took me a few chapters to get into the terminology, but got there in the end. Super interesting read, feel much more educated about the state of the country. Let's hope demographics continue to push the Identity Liberal segment larger and larger! And of course, encourage them to vote...

Technical, but good

This book provides an excellent analysis of the social shifts and events leading up to the EU Referendum in 2016 and how these shifts have affected subsequent election results in the UK. It considers how an individual’s age, education and ethnicity are key determinants of whether they voted leave or remain in the referendum rather than other analyses that have focused more on economic and class factors. The book is well evidenced and takes into account a multitude of factors in its assessment. I particularly liked how the authors consider the resulting challenges of BREXIT on Scotland and the future electoral chances of the Labour and other left parties. It takes a very balanced approach and provides a very useful resource for anyone interested in this area.

In spite of the fact that some of it is quite obvious and occasionally draws out its points a bit too much, it’s very informative in places and should be required reading for anybody interested in identity policies. The narration is quite dry though.

Just troping out the normal misunderstandings about why working class people voted labour. it's nothing to do with ethnocentricism, no one ever used that word. they all said it was about freedom, sovereignty and democracy.

if I hear the phrase ethno- centric one more time I will scream. how anyone can make a topic like Brexit so dull is beyond me. I gave up after 3.5 hours and can't remember a word.Avoid
