When mystery author D. B. Ziegler is late delivering her book, Abi Schore steps in to help. Surely she can give her favorite author moral support over the holiday break and get the manuscript to her boss at Tea & Sympathy Publishing in time for the new year.
When Abi shows up on Ms. Ziegler’s doorstep bearing holiday treats, she’s met by the author’s handsome grandson Dov, who reveals a startling plot twist. His grandmother isn’t able to finish the book and Dov promised he’d complete it so fans won’t be disappointed—a task that’s harder than he ever imagined.
As Hanukkah unfolds, Abi and Dov cozy up in his grandmother’s brownstone apartment working their way through his writer’s block and untangling plot threads. Before long, the novel starts taking shape ... and so does their simmering attraction. Will their own story end once the book is written, or is this just the first chapter?

Got me into the holiday mood
This is my first holiday listen for December 2024. It’s a great love story to kickstart me into the festive season. It gave me all the holiday feels. It was an enjoyable listen from two fantastic narrators.

Hanukkah in the background!
I loved this combination Christmas/Hanukkah feel good romcom, mainly because it was truly Hanukkah and not Christmas and really personable. (Plus, there was no “annoying” recipe at the conclusion - which I personally dislike when reading Cozy Mysteries - and of course this isn’t)!
I like that all of the characters are Jewish, so that the full flavour of the season is brought out, that we non-Jews have no knowledge of!
The romance was a nice slow burn, but in a palatable, convincing fashion. Good old fashioned storytelling. Thank you Audible for including it in the Plus Catalogue, the narrators were good, but I preferred the male narrator of the two.

Cute and Romantic
This was a cute story, if a little bizarre. I liked Abi and Dov's relationship, and the narrators were great at bringing them to life. I liked that Dov was trying to keep Hanukkah traditions that he shared with his gran alive. Their little group of friends is a great network, and I liked that the book wasn't the biggest focus. It's the perfect length for little festive pick me up and it has good pacing.
Synopsis
When Abi gets the chance to meet her favourite author, she jumps at the chance. When she arrives at the home of D.B. Ziegler, however, she is met by the authors grandson, Dov. who informs her that D.B. has passed away, and her final book is unfinished. Now, 1 it's a race against the clock for these two to finish the book and get it to the publisher. With Dov trying to split his time between writing and baking, it's up to Abi to get the job done. She needs to keep Dov's mind on the story and her mind off of Dov.

Lighthearted, clever, funny!
