Following his passing in 2019, tributes to Bob came flooding in in every major news outlet and from every major figure in the industry - and outside of it. His career spanned decades, from his days as a cricketer for England to his time as a pundit on Sky TV. This autobiography includes never-before-seen writing from Bob alongside contributions from key figures as well as a detailed account of the great England victory over Australia at Headingly in 1981.

The book, edited by Bob's brother David, combines a new biography, written by Daily Mail sportswriter Mike Dickson, with a celebration of a truly legendary man. Tributes from some of his many friends in the world of cricket and beyond are accompanied by reflections on highlights from an eventful life, drawing on autobiographical and personal material by Bob himself, contemporary press reports and the accounts of teammates and opponents.

Great book of a great man but they should’ve got someone other than his brother to narrate it, he makes it quite difficult to finish it purely because of his poor delivery.

I loved Bob Willis: the pundit, the cricketer (albeit he retired just before I took up the game) and most importantly - the man. I have to say I didn't find the book that great in as much as I knew most of the stories and anecdotes already. That's not to detract from the book or of course from Bob himself. Rather it's more a product of me watching Cricket for nearly 40 years. Well worth a listen and I understand proceeds go to charity which is another good reason.

Bob was clearly a great English cricketer who was greatly admired and loved.
It was a hard listen however think Bernard Cribbins reads the news, it’s a shame that narrator was not a professional and spoilt it for me.

Bob was such a great cricketer I bought this but all the things I heard showed me how little I knew. He was such a nice person I appreciate him even more. The feeling I got was that I was having a one to one with him which says a lot on the production of this audio book. I really think cricket fans or not it’s a good listen.

Great man of cricket and a wonderful tribute. I appreciate that the family will have wanted to save money on the narration to maximise the contribution to a very good cause, but there must have been many narrators prepared to donate their time and do the tale justice.

A truly great sporting hero admired by both friends and foe alike. Very interesting to hear about so many of his exploits on and off the field! He is sorely missed!

The story is good but it is a hard listen as it is not read by a professional voice actor.

I understand the need to keep costs down so that the charity benefits to the maximum possible but it is still a pity that a volunteer voice actor could not be found to read it.

I grew up watching Bob play for Warwickshire and England, he signed my autograph book on a few occasions and always had a good word and a smile. Over the years I followed him on the BBC and then Sky, When I heard the news of his passing I was left saddened I had never got the chance to really meet him and get to know the real Bob. Through this excellent book you get to know the real man and understand why so mant people held him in such high estime. Thank you for all the memories.
