About this listen

The 10th novel in Anne Rice's internationally best-selling Vampire Chronicles is an erotic tale of immortal love.

The dazzling vampire Lestat was once the epitome of evil. But now he struggles with his immortality, yearning for a more saintly path. His chance comes when he rescues a witch from death by turning her into a vampire. But the repercussions are swift as the powerful Mayfair family rally to punish Lestat for creating a killer from one of their flock.

Yet in the midst of this schism comes a passionate love affair as Lestat becomes dangerously drawn to Rowan Mayfair, a brilliant neurosurgeon and a true witch. However, the fates are cruel, and in an intense finale he must decide on the destiny of his beloved.

Quite enjoyed it

The story was simple. It felt like a tiring up ends kind of book. Nothing made me go Wow sadly. The narrator is good at a variety of voices but I was disappointed in his take on Mona and Rowan.

Boring story...

I'll be honest, this was boring. I fell asleep several times and didn't bother to rewind it to where I remembered listening to. There was literally nothing going on in the story that was at all interesting. Mona became whiny and I couldn't stand her anymore. Quinn wasn't interesting at all like he was in the last one. Lestat was quite boring, and I didn't ever think I could say that of him!
