Summary

There is no perfect marriage. There is no perfect murder.

Diana Jager's life crumbles when her details are released on the Internet as revenge for her antisexism blog. Then she meets Peter. Within six months, they are married. Within six more, Peter is dead in a road accident - a nightmare end to their fairy-tale romance.

But Peter's sister, Lucy, doesn't believe in fairy tales and tasks maverick reporter Jack Parlabane with discovering the dark truth behind the woman the media is calling 'Black Widow'.

I guessed every outcome but was always wrong!

Any additional comments?

A very complicated and detailed storyline which was well constructed. I liked the reporter who came across as a human being rather than a hack although the main characters were not likeable. Nevertheless - a very good and surprising ending.

Very good

This book had me hooked from the beginning . I found that I wanted to keep listening and didn't foresee the sting in the tail at all.
I will definitely listen to more books form this author and I very much enjoyed the narrator's style.

Everything I need from an audiobook

I listen whilst driving and enjoy contemporary crime/thriller works, preferably of 10hrs+ duration.

A hospital doctor's life, feminist reflections on this, dodgy uses of technology, deceit and guilt make for a satisfying mixture in this story. The plot contained just enough twists to be entirely plausible; I congratulated myself on predicting one or two of them and was surprised by others. The characters were entirely believable; as a devotee of TV hospital drama I couldn't help but morph Jac Naylor's persona onto Diana Jager! The narration was good - I find a Scottish accent very listenable - with one or two minor irritations.

How happy I am to discover this author, and that he has further works available on Audible. My wishlist will be adjusted accordingly.

Really good plot and fabulous narration.

This book was a great listen. The narration helped bring the different characters to life. A very good plot too, so very enjoyable. A high quality piece of work. Thank you.

Fantastic thriller

Would you listen to Black Widow again? Why?

Now I know the ending, I wouldn't listen again. However, the plot twists kept me guessing right up until the last 30 minutes.

Who was your favorite character and why?

All of the characters were extremely convincing.

Which character – as performed by Angus King and Scarlett Mack – was your favourite?

I was very impressed by both Scarlett and Angus's performances. However, Angus was particularly skilled at embodying both the male and female characters and each were completely believable.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were many tense moments in the book and I heard myself gasping at some of the revelations.

Any additional comments?

This was the perfect book for me and I devoured it in just two sessions. I just couldn't wait to find out 'who dunnit'.

Great Book

The book kept me gripped. Narrators were excellent, especially Scarlet Mack. I've not listened to one from this series before, but this was not a problem. Works well as stand alone story.
