About this listen

Years ago, Wynn and Elizabeth Delancy adopted Christine and Henry. Now Christine has moved to a nearby city. Working as a secretary in a prosperous company, she is drawn to her employer's handsome son. Henry has joined the Canadian Mounties, where one of his first duties is to help a young widow and her infant. In their new lives, as new relationships grow, can Christine and Henry still draw on the faith they have learned from their parents?©2000 Janette Oke (P)2001 Recorded Books Christian Fiction Contemporary Contemporary Romance Fiction Genre Fiction Historical Historical Fiction Romance

Christian based wholesome story. If you’re a Christian, you’ll probably enjoy it though there are some twists that suggest at domestic violence which bothers me because A) there were no repercussions for the culprit and B) the storyline of the heroine made it sound like she was to blame, when clearly it’s down to the Jack ass bloke being a male chauvinist man child used to his own way! I know the time it was set was pre WW2 and rural/small town Canada but violence is violence no matter what the decade and normalising it for a modern audience sets bad presidents for modern readership. The story of the brother is more palatable. Will say this for it however… not as obvious a story line as one may expect and performances were good.
