So far i have awarded every one of the 'SAS operation' books a five star rating, so I was very surprised to find myself being so disappointed with this one. There wasn't any real excitement to the storyline and to be quite honest the narrator probably made me dislike the book even more. He was absolutely rubbish. Utter tosh. My 3 year old could do a better job than this bloke.

But I guess someone else might quite enjoy his narrating and dialogue efforts, so perhaps don't base whether you'll spend a credit on this solely on my opinion of the narrator. Clarke should have stuck to Paul Thornely, the king of SAS narrating.

Disappointed

This is like listening to a beginners attempt to write Bravo Two-Zero. The storyline drags on and on, with relentless and unnecessary padding. It's like a Tom Clancy novel - why write the story in 100 pages when you can bloat it to 500 pages for no obvious reason. I plan to listen to the whole series of the SAS Operation books, me being a long time fan of the likes of Chris Ryan and Andy McNab, but thankfully this narrator has only been commissioned to do this one. His voice is boring and utterly inappropriate for the story, a bit like Julian Clary reading the works of Mike Tyson if you get my drift. In all honesty the only reason that I plan on finishing the story is because it cost me a credit.
