I loved the story - great narration!
After "Footsteps of the Past" I was totally curious about Wolf's story and was already looking forward to the release of this audiobook! The wait was worth it, I totally loved Wolf and Spencer's story!
Wolf and Spencer have known each other since college and along with Eliott and Chass, the four of them have been best friends since college.
But Wolf has only shown a fraction of himself to even his best friends; he has built his walls around his past too high. Now it threatens to catch up with him.
There has been an attraction between Spencer and Wolf since their college days that is more than friendship. But to protect himself, Wolf keeps his hands off Spencer, who loves fast adventures. The two of them together are a pretty explosive mix and it doesn't stop them from getting into fights and hurting each other almost every time they meet.
Wolf is my absolute favorite character, he's grumpy and doesn't like to socialize, but I lost my heart to him. Spencer is the exact opposite, always cheerful and in a good mood. But sometimes appearances are deceiving.
The story is absolutely great writing! The emotional ups and downs were nerve-wracking and heartbreaking and I was absolutely captivated from the beginning.
I felt like every step forward in Wolf and Spencer's relationship was followed by two steps back. Both characters are deeply written by the author and there is a lot bubbling under the surface. It was heartwarming to see them both face their past. Once you started listening, it was hard to turn off the audio book.
This was also due to Denis Lambert, who absolutely convinced me. He narrated the story emotionally and brought it to life with his voice. I loved his Wolf voice. It was again an absolute pleasure to listen to Denis and I hope he reads more audiobooks!
Highly recommend!
