About this listen

Audie Award Winner • Earphones Award Winner • Best of 2016 Science Fiction Audiobook

Battlefield Earth is an enormous epic of adventure set in the year 3000, when the future survival of what's left of the human race is at stake. When Jonnie Goodboy Tyler decides to venture out of the small and dwindling community of humans barely surviving in their Rocky Mountain retreat, he has no thought of challenging the order that for a thousand years has held the earth prisoner to the oppressive alien race of the Psychlos.

The Psychlos and their vast intergalactic mining corporation have dominated and exploited all known galaxies for centuries, ruthlessly destroying races who dare to resist. How one man - with the aid of a few surviving Scotsmen—tackles the greatest malignant power in the universe makes for a sprawling adventure of thrilling heroics, full of dangerous underground work, interplanetary wars, intergalactic financial intrigue, monster races, and complex political manipulation spread across a vast canvas of epic scale.

Book is brilliant shame about the film.
I have read the book 3 times and this audible version is excellent.

Great. A must for any sci-fi fan

I watched the film with John Travolta & Forest Whitaker playing the parts of Terl & Ker. The film was a far shorter, and although I enjoyed the film, the book goes into great detail and depth, giving the story a much more conclusive ending.

Excellent, so much better than the film!

As a writer R.L Hubbard deserves considerably acknowledgement, and polishes his crown with this masterpiece.

I really enjoyed the ups and downs of this book ,lots of twists and turns . plenty of action and back story. can sometimes get a little lost with the amount of alien races envolved towards the end but I really enjoyed it .
yes the chapter ending audio can get a little annoying but not a big no no ,for a 40+hrs book I was left wanting a little more at the end which I wasn't expecting
worth the credit !!!

I love sci-fi and this book is just the best. It has it all and the cast is like nothing I’ve ever heard. It’s a movie style cast. Just brilliant!

Epic Sci-if adventure!

a beautiful and we narrated story that made it a good listen. The music and use of different people to narrate made the whole thing come to life. Enjoyed the multiple twists and turns.
on the down side, it was slightly longer in some place and could make do with extra description. Some technology seemed dated and just managed to get away with it. Still highly recommended.

A Great Different Story

Sort of cavemen cowboys meet Celtic clansmen via an encounter with an alien force which now controls the earth As if that isn't bizarre enough, we go on to meet, among others, Vikings, African tribal people, and Buddhist monks! Despite the oddity of this, the full-cast performance turned this story into a soap opera which I was happy to return to day after day.

Surreal
