A Must Listen For Understanding Caregivers
This book gave me a whole new perspective on what caregivers go through. I don’t have a caregiver role in my life, but I know people who do, and this helped me understand their challenges and emotions so much better. The letters are heartfelt and practical, offering insight into a world I didn’t fully grasp before. It’s an eye-opener (in the best way) for anyone who wants to support caregivers or simply understand their experience.

Great insight into what a caregiver goes through
When my mom was diagnosed with dementia, I thought my world was crashing down. I found all the information on caregiving for dementia on the internet, but what I didn't find is the truth about the process and how other caregivers were taking it day by day. I came across this lovely audiobook, and it was the missing piece of the puzzle I needed. The book is very well written, and the stories of the caregivers and their resiliance and perseverance through life's toughest job were so inspiring. I would gladly recommend this book to anyone in my position.

It touches me to listen to this book.
Caring for someone with dementia is challenging, but small changes in how we talk or act can make a big difference in their comfort. I’ve seen this with my grandpa—he’s not the same as before, and age has changed him. Working with other elderly people has taught me how sensitive they can be, and this audiobook shares helpful advice and support for caregivers to navigate those moments with love and understanding.

Heartfelt insights for this meaningful journey
I loved this book and as as someone who is caring for a dad with dementia I found it oddly up-lifting. It is very honest and promises no magic formula which was so good to hear - it also managed to make me smile at times as the reality is sometimes such a contrast in behaviour that you can’t help but smile.
Each story – done as a letter from someone who has been there (and who might still be there) manages to cover each of the aspects and different types of dementia and behaviours - things that we face or might face and they were filled with love and great advice.
I really liked the synopsis before the start of each chapter as well and the structure of the whole book - it made it very easy to listen to and to know what to expect (and to jump back to relevant chapters later). The narrator’s warmth adds to the supportive tone, making it even more impactful. It’s a rare blend of empathy and practicality. Highly recommended if you need encouragement and real-world insights for this tough but meaningful journey.
