About this listen

They say that necessity is the mother of all inventions. Amir Weatherby has the world in his hands, quite literally. When his company discovers an asteroid on a direct collision course with Earth, they decide to keep the news quiet and find a way to survive the impending apocalypse themselves. Secret projects begin with the intent of preventing the world going the same way as the dinosaurs.

Three top-secret sites are developed, each designed to hold a small pocket of the human race safe until after impact. It just so happens that one of these sites is in space. The former ISS is transformed into a safe haven called the ARC, the Automated Resettlement and Repopulation Cryostation, where some of the world’s greatest scientific minds will sleep through the whole show.

But events unfold in ways that couldn’t have been predicted, and when they arrive back on Earth there is a whole new disaster waiting for them.

I downloaded this as a free book as a deal and so I didn't really know what to expect. Well, it was fantastic! Really good characters, moves along swiftly, really interesting ideas. Nicely read also and already downloaded the next book. Very impressed.

Absolutely fantastic

This has been immense. With Effortless perspective switching, this is a rich and thoroughly thought out sci-fi story. The organic progression into a new earth brought me into an excited state of awe as the story unfurled. i have to say i am eager to find out what comes next.

Just wow

Good book but I feel put out that you can buy books 1 & 2 combined for 1 credit so slightly soured by audible for me.

Do not buy separately

Great story and good characterisation, if a little stereo-typical. Part 1 ends quite abruptly so definitely need to listen to Part 2 immediately :) narration not entirely to my liking, probably because quite strongly American, although character accents are good enough. Overall very good.

Imaginative approach to a post-apologetic world

story has merit but the writing is poor , with unnecessary explanations of situations. the piece about the DOD tracing Amir is ridiculous. gave up after an hour

couldn't get through it
