Enjoyable

I liked the book and was happily engaged in it- though was left wondering why Aurelia didn’t just tell her friend in confidence what had happened. She trusted her so why not just tell her? Would have saved them all a lot of bother!

Beautiful book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would. I found it totally enjoyable.

What other book might you compare Amy Snow to, and why?

Not really sure what to compare it to. Maybe Daphne Du Maurier's Rebecca in style, but not the story. The story of Amy Snow is quite unusual.

What does Melody Grove bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

I found her narration extremely good and as the voice of main character Amy she was perfect.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I found it to be entertaining and very easy to listen to, with some mystery and romance, but also a lot of depth. At the end it made me feel a bit emotional, both life affirming and a little sad at the same time. Can't say why without giving things away!

Any additional comments?

It's a lovely book that I thoroughly enjoyed, with a very likeable main character and vivid personalities all through. I was sorry when it ended.

Great book

The concept of interweaving a journey of discovery around a secret was brilliant. The story loses pace a bit when Amy goes to Bath and struggles to regain the same excitement that precedes this when she moves on. The love interest is also a bit too sickly leaving the reader hoping for some treachery to spice things up. Despite this, the story deals well with a number of issues relevant to the time and you do grow to love the main characters. The epilogue is worth waiting for.
