Summary

'A throat-catching love letter to his wife and children . . . this lovely man has reframed a universally sad story into a life-enhancing one. The overall message is one of hope.' - The Times

Sir Chris Hoy knows better than most how life can change in the blink of an eye.

In elite sport, the margin between victory and defeat is miniscule, and the pressure is immense. Chris has built a glittering sporting career on understanding these moments: how to feel for them, how to cope with them, how to make them count.

Last year, he faced another life-changing moment. He found out that the ache in his shoulder was in fact a tumour, and that he had Stage 4 cancer.

He will be living with this disease for the rest of his life.

In this memoir, Chris shares the next phase of his extraordinary life with exceptional bravery. He looks over the challenges he has faced thus far, and the ways he has taken them on. With his wife Sarra and their young children by his side, he shares how he has used these experiences to find ways to focus on the moments that matter, showing us how to do the same.

astounding journey

I only heard about Chris's battle abandoned book over the last couple of weeks, I am on a day off and thought I'd try audible for the first, I lived how honest Chris was and never understood prostrate cancer much before and how pains can show up in other ways other than the main diagnosis.
chin up Chris lived the book I couldn't stop listening to it, I had a few tears in my eye listening to it xxx

Hope and Resilience Shine in All That Matters

Listening to All That Matters by Sir Chris Hoy is like stepping into a rollercoaster of resilience, raw emotion, and unwavering positivity. From the very start, Hoy plunges us into the visceral shock of a cancer journey, painting an honest picture of struggle and strength. His narration pulls no punches, offering a rare glimpse into those moments when the ground beneath you feels as if it's giving way, yet his words radiate a persistent optimism that makes this audiobook as uplifting as it is honest.

The structure of the book felt like a time-warped journey through highs and lows, each phase uniquely powerful. Hoy’s pacing keeps you engaged and creates an emotional rhythm that captures both the intense moments and the triumphant ones, with an arc that feels personal and deeply impactful.

Above all, Hoy's story resonates as a testament to the human spirit. In his humble yet unbreakable voice, he shows us that even an "ordinary" Olympic champion faces extraordinary challenges, and through it all, he inspires us to find light in the darkest corners. For anyone seeking a story of courage, this audiobook is an absolute must-listen.
