Poor narration

I really struggled to enjoy this. The first two books were narrated by one person and the personalities and speech patterns were really well performed and convincing. In book 3 the narration is so different. Accents no longer exist which changes everything about the characters from books 1 and 2. Whoever thought this was a good idea clearly didn’t think it through.

Sweet and wholesome

A loveable book series with relatable characters. I found the narration a bit confusing at times. All in all a little bit like a hug 🤗 Makes you feel warm inside ❤️

Relaxing and enjoyable butttt….

I’ve listened to the first two books and really enjoyed them. Love the characters and the storyline. The only thing that really, really annoyed me was the inclusion of the male parts in the story. At one point there’s a male part and in the next chapter a female impression of the male part. It’s annoying and really not necessary and really ruins the flow of the story. It needs to be one or the other and I’d prefer it if it was just the one narrator and even better if she just read the story and didn’t try to mimic the male voices, it’s a distraction and seems childish. I love these books, please don’t spoil them by over playing them. Leave them as the first book, simply and lovely. It makes me worried to buy another one as it was less enjoyable with all the changes. Other than that I’m looking forward to seeing how the characters develop and the story goes.

Another lovely story from Ms Halton

I have listened to all three books together and loved the stories, the only thing that spoiled this one for me was the change of and having different narrators and Riley lost his Yorkshire accent - petty I know and if you don't listen to them consecutively you'd probably not notice. Other than that, this and the other two books had me laughing and crying along with all sorts of other emotions. Beautifully written, Linn B Halton brings Cornwall and the farm to life. Highly recommend

Storyline

A wonderful end to the story trilogy, as others have said the only thing that let it down was the performance as the narrator was changed for the third book.

brilliant story

I have listened to all 3 books consecutively. I was slightly disappointed with this last one. The story was lovely and well written, but unfortunately there were different narrators, In the last 2 books Riley had a lovely Yorkshire accent as he was from York in this last book he had suddenly developed a southern public school accent. The lack of continuity in the narration spoult it a bit for me. However the story was lovely. Recommended.
