Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

The chilling and heart-pounding new novel from Norwegian superstar Jørn Lier Horst.

The inspiration for the hit BBC Four show Wisting.

Wisting is back with his most gripping case yet.

In 1999, 17-year-old Tone Vaterland was killed on her way home from work. Desperate for a conviction the police deemed the investigation an open-and-shut case and sent her spurned boyfriend, Danny Momrak, down for murder.

But 20 years later William Wisting receives a puzzling letter. It suggests the wrong man was convicted for Tone's death and that the real murderer is still out there and could kill again.

Wisting wanting

Definitely not the best story. It really dragged and the performance could not save. Too much personal detail and not enough plot. Sorry

Gripping and taught thriller from The Master

I loved this. It’s gripping from the start- even the exposition is interesting and draws you in.

Another excellent Wisting story

As with other Wisting stories, this one offers carefully detailed plotting. It’s not full of heart-stopping drama - that’s not Wisting’s style. Instead it provides a plausible and fascinating police procedural with good characterisation of both suspects and law enforcers. I appreciate the central character being decent and likeable with some irritating flaws - a realistic figure. Saul Reichlin’s narration is very clear and listenable.

Decent but not the best…

Nice steady story, not spectacular and a solid story, just ticking along nicely. Knew what was coming with 5 chapters left.

Another great read

The story is good and while the outcome is foreseeable imparts some parts are unexpected.

The narrator is not up to the standard of the other books in the wWisting stories, with odd delivery, wired stresses and in part flatness.

Overall a good story, well paced and nice character development.
