Summary

A Prayer Before Dawn is the true story of one man's fight to survive inside Klong Prem prison, the notorious Bangkok Hilton. Billy Moore traveled to Thailand to escape a life of drug addiction and alcoholism. He managed to overcome his inner demons for a time but relapsed after trying ya ba, a highly addictive form of methamphetamine. Moore's life quickly descended into chaos, drug dealing, and violence until he was eventually arrested and imprisoned in Klong Prem, a place where life has no value.

A Prayer Before Dawn is no ordinary prison memoir; it's the story of one man's struggle to survive in one of the world's toughest prisons. It's also a story of redemption in the most unlikely of places.

Harrowing But Good

Listened to it all in one day . Harrowing & upsetting to hear what happened to some prisoners but really good & so funny at times too I laughed out loud in supermarkets shopping listening to you with earbuds in 🤣. Glad your out , what a total nightmare you’ve been through & good luck for the future 👍🏼

Enjoyable

when he described himself in Liverpool I thought he was a scumbag but you warm to him though the book.
It was really interesting with lots of strange characters and quite disturbing in parts and I sad to reach the final chapter.
Mr Moore brought it all on himself but I hope he's well now and has found peace.

good story terrible narrator.

narrator ruined the story with terrible accent. Billy has had enough misfortune because unless he was part way through converting to a ladyboy who hailed from the Black Country the narrators accent which is supposed to be Scouse is a proper joke.

Very good

Finished this really quickly. It's interesting enough to manage to allow you to get best the poor narrator and those terrible accents. Still rated as worth the purchase despite this
