Having read Emma Lathen's books years ago I was delighted to find them on Audible. What a disappointment! These carefully plotted, intricately detailed stories deserve clear reading. Instead the narration is slurred, and broken into segments without attention to punctuation or even sense. These classic murder mysteries offer all the clues to allow the reader the satisfaction of working out the solution, but there are great chunks of this performance from which I can take only the gist, the narration is so garbled. It may be that the accent of the narrator makes things worse - as do the ridiculous sound effects. I know what a closing door sounds like. I'm just glad I listened to this title before buying the others.
