Summary
Valentine's Day in Lanai, Georgia.
Allie Treadwell’s mystery senses are tingling...again.
A death at her grandmother’s retirement community has the food blogger suspecting murder. And she’s not the only one. Allie’s neighbor Jeanie happened to have a “special relationship” with the deceased, Melvin Fleming.
Step one: Convince the handsome detective Javier that Melvin’s death is actually a murder.
Step two: Convince her heart that all this time spent with Javier is for the case and the case alone.
With her boyfriend Luke’s jealousy becoming ever more apparent, and a special date planned, will Allie end up dumped and alone on Valentine’s Day for the redacted year running?
With a killer on the loose, can Allie find the answers before another body gets dumped, just like her heart?

it just put such a smile on my face listening
For some reason I hadn't listened to the rest of this series and found it in my to listen pile. I had forgotten what a treat it was going to be, short to the point cosy story narrated so well. It just made me smile - the restaurant scene, apart from the conclusion, I could relate to with my husband he hates fancy restaurants.
All in all just loved it and straight onto next book in series

A morsel of a mystery
I enjoyed this book but just wish it could have been longer so it could contain more twists in the mystery and less about the food. The food prep is needed because a/ it's her job and b/ because she uses it to break the ice with suspects but what I found annoying was the blog post from readers, sorry I just couldn't see the point of them. Other than that I liked the plot idea just don't listen to this book if you are on a diet hehe. The characters were interesting and a mixed bunch and although I had guessed who the killer was I still enjoyed listening to see if I was right.
A visit to her Gran's retirement home turns deadly for Allie. One of the residents has died in his sleep which isn't unusual but it is after the doctor had given him a clean bill of health. What's more is the Casanova latest girlfriend is Allie's very own neighbour and she is convinced that things aren't right. Allie asks her friend police detective Javier to take a look. He quickly establishes that In fact it was murder. But who would kill an old man? Despite being told to stick to doing what she does best cooking, Allie is about to find out. Well she can't very well leave her Gran living near a killer, can she?
I liked the narrator and thought she did a good job with the voices.
