About this listen

Cloaked strangers and danger abound...

When dinner ladies and amateur sleuths Margery and Clementine Butcher-Baker embark on an evening walk after another busy half-term at Summerview Secondary School, they discover the body of missing maths teacher Mr Weaver. Marked with a mysterious symbol, something suspicious is clearly afoot.

As the nights grow darker and the mysterious symbols continue to appear around Dewstow, the Dinner Lady Detectives are pulled deeper into the case. Can they solve the mystery as deceit and chaos reign, or will their killer pull off another deadly trick?

A fun and charming cosy mystery, perfect for fans of J.M Hall and Fiona Leitch.

"Hendy is, by far, one of the very best cosy writers we have - and A Frightfully Fatal Affair sees her on sparkling form" - Jonathan Whitelaw, author of 'The Bingo Hall Detectives'

Hannah Hendy lives in a small town in South Wales with her long-suffering wife and two spoilt cats. A professional chef by trade, she started writing to fill the time between shifts.

I love everything about this one and it actually kept me up all night! I was so scared in some parts but I love the fact that the story always ends well! very calming

A lesbian couple who solve crimes - oh yes!!

I love how the story twists and turns. The characters come alive and I love how their personalities work so well together. It’s very cleverly written and read beautifully. The reader’s accents flow wonderfully.

Excellent as always

I normally like cosy mysteries but this one was definitely not my cup of tea. Absolutely nothing noteworthy other than the truly awful “Welsh” accents the reader attempts; they were just so jarring it made the story even less enjoyable and I struggled to sit through it. I really wanted to like this as I would’ve loved to have found an author who was local to me to support, but I just couldn’t force myself.

Disappointing
