Summary

Washington, DC, midday. A man waits at a bus stop, his intentions unknown. Two government operatives have been stalking him for days, waiting for him to make his move. Unexpectedly the man takes off running and heads for a deserted warehouse. Jack Noble and his partner, Frank Skinner, believe the man to be part of a terrorist organization that is involved in smuggling drugs, guns, and men into the country. But it turns out their plan involves far more export than import and hits a lot closer to home. As the case unfolds, the man behind it all reaches out to Jack with a simple message...37 hours.

He's Noble, but not a patch on Reacher…

This is the 2nd in the Jack Noble series. I reserved judgment on the 1st book, to let this novel be my decider.

In my opinion, the 2 books could have been written as one. True, they're 2 different stories and settings, but they could easily have been strung together! As individual novels, they each lack some of the background information that gives a story more dimension. I don't mean that it should have pages and pages of it, but it at least should have some.

It's a very one dimensional novel, with only one dimensional characters, doing things that are extraordinary, yet ignoring the routine stuff that could be useful or lifesaving.

Also, there is still no rhyme or reason to the plot, as 'explained' by the perpetrator! So, on the whole, it leaves a very unfinished & unsettling taste in you mouth. To be honest , I'd expect more detail from a short story!

Forget the hype. This guy is no Jack Reacher, Jason Bourne or Mitch Rapp and, if you are accustomed to reading those novels, then you're going to be very disappointed or dissatisfied with Noble.

Never quite got going, for me.

Firstly I thought the sound whilst clear, was over bassed.

The story never quite got going, and the supposed hard man didn’t live up to his reputation, didn’t quite get the better of the bad guys when perhaps he should have.

I hope they get better, as I have bought two more of the series.

If you were expecting Jack Reacher you will be disappointed

I enjoyed Noble beginnings so purchased this one. Very disappointed as story line a bit ragged. Finished but did not really enjoy it.
