Well written and well narrated. Having the same main characters gives continuity and familiarity making it more enjoyable.

This is David Young’s best book so far. It’s more than a beautifully crafted novel with a gripping storyline full of unexpected twists and turns. It is in reality a thriller not just a detective story. Bit by bit, chapter by chapter, David Young carefully peels away the layers of deceit, fear and naivety that underpinned the former Soviet satellite state of East Germany. The audible version is beautifully read and presented. Surely an excellent candidate for a film or tv series?

A great listen. Difficult to press stop once you start. Both narrators capture the essence of the characters and the plot.

Engrossing

Too many ridiculous coincidences and twists in the plot made this book very unsatisfactory. Really didn't enjoy it. Stuck with it to the end but was left disappointed and frustrated.
