About this listen
Polly Letofsky left her Colorado home and headed west across four continents and over 14,000 miles - by foot - to become the first woman to walk around the world. In a spirit of adventure, along with the goal of raising global awareness for breast cancer, strangers welcomed her into their homes. The world had embraced her. But in the middle of Polly's journey, 9/11 flung us all into a crossroads in world history, and she found herself navigating a vastly changing world.

There were many laugh out loud moments, and times when I wondered how she would carry on. Such grit and determination is admirable.
Loving this so much, I really didn’t want the book to end.
Fantastic, gripping and funny

However, for me, and I feel awful saying this as I’m sure Ms Letofsky would probably have similar comments about my nasal tones, but for me, I’m afraid I started to find Polly’s high pitched voice, and occasional shrieking, kinda grating after a while. Add to that the terrible attempts at accents (several reviews warned me) and I’ve had to stop with the audio book. I wasn’t offended by the accents as people some are, and at times they were quite comical, but they do get a bit toe-curling I thought.
So for me, despite the truly amazing story, it can only be 3 stars for the audio book. I will definitely be reading the book, for sure, but I’ve had to give up on the audio book which is a great pity. Sorry Polly. I still think you are amazing, and what you did is a true inspiration, but the audio book would be much better if read by someone else in my personal opinion.
Fantastic… but

Not a bad story, shame about the accents
