Наверняка всем известна легенда о сыне Дедала-Икаре, улетевшем с острова Крит на крыльях, сделанных из перьев и воска. И хотя некоторые скептики ставят под сомнение достоверность полета Икара, называя это событие не более чем выдумкой и вручают пальму первенства в воздухоплавании братьям Монгольфье, спешим их разочаровать. Первым человеком, преодолевшим силу притяжения, стал простой русский крестьянин Емельян Иванов и произошло это в 1695 году, задолго до первого полета знаменитых французских братьев. Обо всем этом Константин Масальский рассказывает в своей повести Русский Икар.
