Литературный дебют Александра Михайловича Гликберга состоялся в 1904 году. Начиная с 1905 года, он публикует свои стихи и рассказы под псевдонимом Саша Черный. "Нас было двое в семье с именем Александр. Один брюнет, другой блондин. Когда я ещё не думал, что из моей "литературы" что-нибудь выйдет, я начал подписываться этим семейным прозвищем" (Саша Чёрный). Под этим псевдонимом поэт-сатирик и автор волшебных детских сказок Александр Михайлович Гликберг и приобрел всенародную любовь и популярность.
