This was an amazing retelling of The Joker and Harley Quinn! After many failed attempts to catch a ruthless killer, Samantha Daniels has been sent undercover to find, seduce, and bring in Dominic Murphy. She becomes Haley, goes to jail, escapes, and manages to loose herself and her heart within the mission. How much insanity and pain can a person take before they break and give into their darkest desires? I loved the internal struggle that Samantha/ Haley went through on her journey to discovering her true self while thrown into this unknown world. Looking into the psyche of the characters and criminal world of this book was enthralling and captivating. The toxic relationship between Dom and his deck was one that I would probably never feel safe in, but it’s understandable why people would want or need to be apart of it; his relationship that he had with his Queens and then with Haley were different, but perfectly so and led to many more deaths. This book was filled with the most beautiful violence, torture, insanity, and dark romance that I want more of their story!
Kat did a fantastic job with this narration! She managed to pull off a “full cast” performance all by herself and voiced every character differently and perfectly that she heightened the experience. Her voices for Samantha, Haley, and Dom were my absolute favorite and she captured each of their personalities and emotions so well.

Suzanne this was great ! I was pleased that it's not just a book rewrite of Suicide Squad's Harley Quinn, but it does give us an anti hero with the same destructive and conflicted traits and I loved it. The voices are often manic and jarring which is in character - its just that I'm not usually in the company of Gangsters. It was a gradual connection with the very dark Dominic - but is easy to see how society failed the orphan boy Dominic. Great story telling of the forensic psychology.
