Summary

Tall, dark, and muscled like a god, Beau Barnett is great with an axe. Every woman in Rockhead Point wants a taste of the mountain man. Including me.

Except he doesn't even know my name. I'm just the girl behind the counter filling his coffee, while he grunts and grumbles, barely making eye contact. Then a newcomer with a charming smile and a fancy suit shows up in Rockhead Point, and refuses to take no for an answer when he asks me to dinner.

That's when I find out Mr. Mountain Man not only knows my name; he thinks I'm his property.

Alpha male

If you love a good alpha male romance, then you’ll definitely enjoy this book. There is a significant agr difference between Beau and Bonnie, and in their own way they make it work. Beau repeatedly tells Bonnie “no space no distance” and she’s stuck on wanting space and time to absorb everything happening. These two have a passion that is hard to contain and sometimes you have to hit poor Bonnie over the head with what’s in front of her, but their HEA is worth it. The narrative team worked well together in bringing this story to life.

Pretty funny, over the top

This is an age-gap romance between an over-the-top growly mountain man and a sweet, young woman. The age gap is more than 20 years and Beau and Bonnie are neighbors. Bonnie has had a crush on Beau for such a long time and Beau didn't realize how much he wanted Bonnie until she caught the attention of a new guy. I laughed a bit at his caveman attitude but I have to admit that the premise threw me a little. He never asked her for dates (after all, in his mind, they were meant to be) but he would ask her father for preferences about, for instance, what to eat. It just seemed the story was very paternalistic, which is why I thought the story was overtop. If you like gap, daddy-ish, steamy stories, this one would fit the bill. I give the story 3.5 stars.

The narration, on the other hand, was great. I thought both of the voices, Cecily Foster's and Drew Adams, fit what I would imagine from these characters. Overall, i really enjoyed the narration.

Bonnie and Beau!

Bonnie has had feelings for the brusque, sexy and much older outdoorsy man since she was a teenager but doesn’t believe he would ever feel the same way. So rather than living the life she wants with him she finds herself standing on the sidelines until another person enters the picture and it changes everything.

In his heart Beau has believed that Bonnie is his for a long time, but he always believed he had time until an outside threat forces him to take matters into his own hands. He will show her with his body and his words that they have always belonged together.

The chemistry between them radiates off the pages and although they had a few adjustments along the way there is no denying that the only place they belong is with each other. The narrators were a great choices for the characters as they brought out the gruffness of Beau and the sassiness of Bonnie. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

Erotic Age Gap Romance

Property of the Mountain Man by Gemma Weir is an erotic romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Cecily Foster and Drew Adams. This is the first book in the Montana Mountain Men series and can be read as a standalone.

The book does come with a trigger warning "This book contains an over the top, jealous, unreasonable, possessive asshole. If you consider unapologetic alphaholes unacceptable, or feel their behavior is in someway abusive, then this isn't the book for you."

This is the first book of Gemma's that I have read it won't be my last. The chemistry between Bonnie and Beau is off the charts! Their relationship definitely isn't for everyone but I couldn't help but root for them.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Owned By The Mountain Man to be released on audio so I can get Huck and Cora's story.

Cecily and Drew did an amazing job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves erotic romances, age gap romances, or if you love Alphaholes!

Beau puts a capital P in Possessive!!

Great Narrators- Drews voice was perfect, loved the husky, deep voice.

Beau was a possessive, alpha- A-hole BUT his intentions were pure.
I enjoyed it and im curious over the other brothers...

Very enjoyable listen

This story was fun. The characters gave me some laughs and the narrators did a good job. The story did not feel long, and flowed well.

you have to just go with it

OK so remember this is a fictional mountain man romance, in the real world Beau would be toxic as hell with his possessiveness. but if you're familiar with these sort of alpha, mountain man, possessive men and can separate the real world to indulge in your fictional one and you like your spice with an age gap, then this book is for you. I enjoyed it and its worth the credit.

ok, hold on a second!

no doubt he is a hottie, but to be fair, he is a tad suffocating. his necessity to control every move she does, smells of insecurity. in every love story there has to be some sort of trust. but overall i loved the story and the characters. looking forward to reading the stories of the other brothers as they all sound like a dream. performance was great and cannot fault it.

🔥

This book is 🔥 and dirty! You get a very alpha caveman type, a stringed willed woman and a story where you see experience levels perceive differently.

Property of Beau

🎧 Audiobook review 🎧

Originally I picked up this novel in ebook format and my head just wasn’t in the right space for it so I set it down for a few weeks. When I came back to it, I switched to audio and I experienced the story in a different way as I worked on some stuff around the house. The narrators added an extra dimension to the characters that entertained me quite well.

Beau was that HOT AF 🔥 OTT possessive alpha that in real life would probably end up on a true crime show but in fiction is a swoon-worthy protector that makes ladies’ hearts go a flutter.

Bonnie was a trip. She vacillated between confused/ uncertain and rebellious. There were some times when she frustrated me, but I understand how her actions were used to manage the plot.

The narrators, Drew Adams and Cecily Foster, were great choices for Beau and Bonnie. I loved their inflections, tones, and energy. There were a few minor parts where there was a difference in sound volume, either high to low or vice versa. Perhaps the part may have been spliced in? 🤷🏻‍♀️ They do not, however, detract from the story in a significant way.
