Summary
I used to think that my life was boring. I resigned myself to the rut I was stuck in. Then my entire existence was turned upside down.
In the last six months, I’ve learned things that would get me committed to an asylum if I repeated them. First, I was kidnapped by vampires. Yes, vampires. Sounds crazy, right? My best friend, Donna, became one of the fanged after that little adventure and hooked up with a hot, Scottish vampire named Conner. They’re even planning a wedding.
Secondly, I learned not all vampires are evil. In fact, some of them are downright sexy.
Alexander Dimitriades has it all. He’s tall, dark, and handsome and manages to give me tingles in all the right place and also make me laugh. Unfortunately, to be with him, I would have to give up my humanity and I like being human. Then, there’s the fact that the whole drinking blood thing gives me the heebie jeebies.
To make matters worse, there are plans in motion to change the place vampires hold in the human world. And I’m caught in the middle, between the vampire I’m falling in love with and a group that wants to create a vampire dictatorship, with humans as slaves.
Now, all I want is my calm, normal life back. As my friend, Ricki, likes to say, “Be careful what you wish for because it might come and bite you on the ass.” I hate it when she’s right.
This work contains BDSM elements/themes, spanking, bondage, anal play, and a bossy, persistent Greek vampire.

STEAMY Vampire Romance
Once Bitten, Twice Shy is a continuation of the first book, Bite Me. The premise is interesting, and the storyline is super-steamy with a strong emphasis on BDSM. The main characters are well-developed, complex, and intriguing. Ivie, trying to deal with the subsequent trauma after being kidnapped by vampires. Alexander Dimitriades (Lex) is a gorgeous and dominant ancient vampire and, drawn to Ivie, wanting to protect her. There is definitely uncertainty and hesitation on Ivie's part, given her ordeal and the resulting lack of trust in vampires. Their journey is a hot one, with obstacles, ups, and downs. And, I very much enjoyed their story.
Excellent narration; Ri Paige emulated the character's personalities, emotions, and connections very nicely. I enjoyed her performance and the storyline. I'm recommending this audiobook to those interested in erotic paranormal vampire romance.

Amazing
This is a fantastic book. I really enjoyed the storyline and characters. I must confess I haven’t read/listened to the first book but I didn’t miss it at all. The characters are well written and Ri has given a brilliant performance.

Even better than the first book in this series.
As a big fan of paranormal romance stories and having enjoyed Bite Me. I was excited to listen to Once Bitten , Twice Shy. I was not disappointed. Once again the plot delivered on all fronts. Plenty of seriously hot steam, romance, and chemistry, with tension, humour and a great flow. I look forward to the rest of this series being on audiobook.
Ri Paige did a great job with the narration, The voice acting was excellent with recognisable characters and the atmosphere clear throughout.

Hot vampires and a great story
This is the second book in the Bitten series by C.C. Wood and I was gifted the audio version in return for a non biased review. I hadn’t read book one but I’m going back to do that now as this was a a beauty of a paranormal romance. Witches werewolf’s and smoking hot vampires.
Ivy survived being kidnapped in the first book by evil vampires and is now living with her best friend Donna who was recently turned into a vampire by her sexy vampire fiancé Connor.
There is a pretty good description and run down of book one so I had no issues following.
Ivy is still having nightmares of her abduction but is learning that like humans there are good and bad vampires. Helping her see this is yet another sexy vampire Lex.
The attraction between them is mutual but Ivy try’s fighting it. So glad she didn’t succeed as Lex has a kinky side and their chemistry is sizzling of the charts.
As well as this developing relationship we find out there is a group of pure born vampires called the Faction trying to take over… well everything including making all humans slaves to them.
Can these hot fang boys (lol I love Donna’s nickname for Connor) save the day? Well you need to check it out to find out.
5/5 hot stars

Excellent
After Ivy was taken by the sadistic vampire she goes to live with Donna & Connor at what she calls the McMansion. Lex is a frequent visitor and as much as Ivy tries to resist she knows how she feels for him. Love Ivy and Lex and the way she stands up when he tries to dominant her. I can’t wait for the next book to see how Finn and Kerry go about things.

Not sure
I have to start by admitting I haven't read book 1 so could be right off the mark here but for me what started out as an exciting and promising read/listen faded to a huge yawn half way through.
I began to dislike Ivie and then found Lex getting on my nerves as well. There was also a complete lack of depth in the writing made me think that the story had been written by a very inexperienced and naive author.
Harsh words I know, but I received the free audio version of this book in return for an honest review and I'm being honest.
You could also tell the voice actor ( Ri Paige) struggled to animate the characters because they were so one dimensional that there wouldn't have been much there for her to get to create the characters.
I am sure my opinion is because as an older reviewer my expectations of what constitutes a good read (or listen) has been honed by the amount of books I have read and listened to. I am sure a younger adult reader/listener would appreciate this attempt at entertainment and give it more than 3 stars I have given here.
Why 3 stars? I appreciate the free listen, I may have missed something in the first book and if the author is young and inexperienced then there is hope this series will improve.
