Each book in this series gets better and better. With each new story we find out bits and pieces to an overall puzzle that I can feel is coming to an end. Filip and Camille's story was everything wrapped up in a dirty painful package - cute and sweet while having all the feels. As always with Troy Duran narrating I loved, loved, loved the narration. His voice is low and deep and extremely sexy. Natalie Eaton is a new to me narrator and she too did a wonderful job.

Jill Ramsower is one of my favorite mafia romance writers and I have been waiting for Absolute Silence to come out on audio! I love his series, each book standing alone, but so much better when listened to in order. This story is hot and suspenseful, featuring Filip and Camilla. Each from a different family, Filip will watch over Camilla even though she is not active in the family business. When Camilla shows up at the Lion's Den, an exclusive sex club, Filip sees red. Dante, the owner is also very protective of Camilla and will do what is necessary to keep her as a client. Filip takes it upon himself to become her dom, and our story truly begins. Tangled feelings, misunderstandings, spicy scenes, and twists and turns lead us through the five families. It's exciting and the entwined circumstances all lead to a conclusion that is thrilling and satisfying. Ramsower always delivers and I look forward to seeing what she has in store for us next.

Troy Duran is Filip and what a performance. I love his smooth baritone, and he can make that alpha protective male come out and play. He is perfect for this role. Natalie Eaton is new to me, and I found her voice pleasing to the ear and spot on for the character. Camilla has some layers to her, and she peels each one off as she matures and grows into herself. These two made a wonderful team and made a fabulous listen.

Jill Ramsower pens another amazing mafia romance novel, the fifth in “The Five Families” series and I loved everything about it, from her wonderful writing style to the fantastic characters and storylines to the perfectly cast narrators who bring it all to life from the pages to your ears. Each book in the series stands on its own, so if you are new to the series and start with this book, everything you need to know is in the descriptive details and you will never feel lost or like you are missing something. This book is Filip DeLuca and Camilla Genovese, both come Mafia crime families and have connections to characters from earlier books. Camilla is not involved in family business but she is still protected and Filip has been working under his brother, Matteo’s guidance, and wants to be more involved in the family business. Camilla did something she wanted to do for a while and joined the Lion’s Den, an exclusive member only sex club. The owner of the club, Dante Cabello, gave her the tour of the place and her heart sunk when she saw who was there, Filip, the brother of her cousin’s husband. Filip is a member of the club and friends with Dante, and when he first saw Camilla, his protective instinct kicked in, and he takes over for Dante to show her the ropes. He wanted to put an end to her membership but Camilla would not let him bully her out of something she really wanted and they came up with an agreement, he would be the only one she played with. The chemistry between these two is electric, but he is not a relationship type of guy and he pushes her to her limits and not in a good way, more like he is playing her. There is never a dull moment in this brilliantly plotted story, besides the relationship drama and the push and pull between them there are threats in the mafia world, the cartel are back in town, and then there is another threat closer to home and a twist you never saw coming. I loved how it all played out, including the steamy hot scenes and sexy times which are well written and well done. Jill Ramsower, thank you for another captivating story and the wild and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Troy Duran and Natalie Eaton are fabulously talented narrators and versatile voice artists. I love how they took each role and made it their own and did so with a complete understanding of the characters they were portraying, giving each a voice that was a perfect fit to that character’s persona, sounding believable and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Natalie Eaton played Camilla’s role with perfection, grasped the strength and her every emotion and had you feeling every single one, Troy Duran did the same for Filip, playing the perfect bossy alpha. Both were fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. Their voices complimented each other’s and the quality of the audio and performance was flawless. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhances an already fantastic story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Camilla has decided that it is time to push her boundaries, so she decides to join the BDSM club Lion’s Den to keep this part of her private from her family so finding out that one of the other members is someone she and her family knows is a surprise she wasn’t expecting.

Filip is surprised to see Camilla and his first instinct is to have her membership terminated since he is friends with the owner but instead, he issues an ultimatum that the only person she can be with is him. He was prepared for the attraction between them, but nothing could have prepared him for the feelings he would develop for her.

Both Camilla and Filip were still dealing with the aftereffects of their pasts and neither was looking for a relationship but some things are meant to be as they take us on a suspenseful and sensual journey. I enjoyed the performance of the narrators as they allowed you to feel the depth of the connection between the two characters whether they were together or apart.

My first audio book from Jill Ramsower and Absolute Silence is a dark Mafia romance with mild elements of bdsm and sex clubs as Camilla, looking for something ‘more’ in her life, starts a journey of exploration with Filip when he agrees to educate her in the ways of the club. I loved how the characters knew each other albeit in a distant family way with Filip’s brother married to Cam’s cousin. It added an element of risk to Filip. If Cam’s family discovered that he knew she was frequenting a sex club let alone he had actually touched her he would’ve been a dead man. His desire for her though wrestled with his over-protective nature and desire to scare her away. A large part of this book deals with the gradual development of their relationship from a sort of student/teacher footing to full on lovers until in the last part when the threat of losing Camilla makes Filip realise just what she means to him.

While I loved the actual story of Absolute Silence the narrators just didn’t hit the spot for me. This is going to sound a really strange thing to say but for pretty much two thirds of this audio I felt like they were just reading off a script which obviously is what they were doing but I’ve listened to other narrators who managed to imbue such a range of emotions into their reading that I honestly don’t remember my commute to work (when I mostly listen to audible) I’ve been so caught up in their words but I’ve never felt that with this book. It did pick up a bit towards to the end but a little too late for me.

This is my first Jill Ramsower book, and it was good! I really was engrossed in then storyline, and was sad when it ended! It’s good! There’s lots of intrigue.. some twists and turns, and a whole lot of other interesting parts you’ll have to hear for yourself!!

Not my first Troy Duran listen, and definitely not my last! Natalie Eaton is a new name for me, but I enjoyed listening to her!!!

This is the fifth book in The Five Families Series, an amazing Dark Mafia Romance Series. I read it and loved it. The audiobook version is amazing! This is a series of interconnected stories, and intertwined characters. You can read this book as a standalone. Filip and Camilla are hot together. They met at The Lion’s Den club, a BDSM club. Filip (Matteo's brother from Blood Always) is intense, dominant, powerful, and commanding. Camillia (Giada's sister from Impossible Odds) is lovely, strong, and independent. Their story has passion, danger, and some interesting and unpredictable twists and turns. The supporting characters are interesting. Troy Duran and Natalie Eaton did an outstanding job with the narration. I love their voices together. The audio production is perfect. I highly recommend this book, and this Series.
